Hello everyone.

Tried to ask at Reddit but still no replies, maybe I'm gonna be lucky here.

First, These are what I followed:

https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2011-asus-n53sn-r9-390x4gbps-mpcie2-pe4c-v3-0-win10-doink/

https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2012-14-hp-8470p-9600gt4gbps-ec2-7-egpu/paged/12/?foro=allread&foro_n=6948b57170

And of course, the how-tos.

I already have a successful build with AIO pc with pce164p and 1060 3gb. Now it's a laptop turn, as I have spare time.

Starting with PERST# isolation. I booted successfully once, but I'm not sure, pin22 was properly isolated. I tried several methods, in the end, GPU is not detected in clover, so canceled.

I think the reason the boot was successful is that I saw 3 video cards in clover but then got acpi BSOD because TOLUD wasn't set to 2.25gb.

Now, Mobo is Asus k53sd rev5.1, in default bios configuration laptop dies, the only way to RESURRECT it is to install 2gb ram (which I currently don't have and don't want to buy), or just clear CMOS by removing the battery. I didn't find anything that looks like a jumper.

I have patched bios, so at least I have the Chipset tab. I don't have any extra at Advanced tab, so maybe it could do the trick, but I don't currently have a soic8 adapter if things go wrong.

So, how to start the laptop with patched bios and egpu connected?

First I have PSU always turned on with a clip and I just turn on/off PSU if needed -- pce164p is always in mPCIe slot.

1. Turn the PSU off, enter bios, memory configuration, set TOLUD to 2.25gb, turn the PSU on, save and exit -- there are 3 graphics cards in clover/ubuntu.

2. PSU off, set IGFX, turn on, save, and exit -- 2 GPU in clover/ubuntu.

3. set Switchable graphics but turn off internal graphics port configuration -- 2gpu in clover/ubuntu.

4. set PCI -- after restart you'll be able to browse bios from an external monitor.

As you can see I tried all of that stuff. I have reinstalled windows in 1st config (now I cannot reinstall it, the same issue as with booting to windows), there I had 3 video cards in devmgmt. dgpu and egpu with code 31.

I ran out of ideas. Any thoughts?
