Asus K55VJ Egpu guide. Nvidia Gtx 1060 Ok !

Hello to Everyone.

Asus K55VJ

i5 3230m CPU
6 Gb Ram DDR3 1333 Mhz
240 Gb AData Su650 Ssd
Nvidia 635m and Intel Hd 4000
Windows 10 64bit Pro

Nvidia Gtx 1060
400W PSI with 6-pin PCIe output
Beast Mini PCIe v8.5c
Usb Wifi Adapter

   eGPU Setup:

1- First see what the boot partition of your hard disk is.
   To do this, open Device Manager, locate your hard disk and double-click it.
   In the Units section, click Fill.
   If your Partition Style is GPT, you cannot import images from the internal display *.
   If your Partitioning Style is MBR, continue with installation.
2- Remove the Wifi Adapter from the device manager.
3- Turn off your computer.
4- Egpu has two keys on the dock. PWR and GND.
   Set the PWR switch to ATX mode.
   Set the GND switch to Off.
5. Connect your GTX 1060 graphics card to the PCIex 16 slot and make the power connections.
6- Remove the battery from your laptop.
7- Unscrew the 2 screws on the bottom of your laptop and reach your wifi card.
8- Remove the screw that holds your wifi card and remove the card from the slot.
9- Insert the mini PCIex card that comes with your EGPU into the slot and tighten the screw again.
10- Reinstall the battery.
11- Plug the HDMI socket on the end of the mini PCIex cable into the eGPU adapter.
12- Start your laptop. Your connection is successful if your video card worked with your computer.
13- Open the device manager and disable the Xeon processor E3- 1200 v2 / 3rd PCI express root port device.
14- Plug in your usb wifi adapter.
15- Download the latest Nvidia driver.
       To troubleshoot Nvidia error 43:
      address. Download the zip file and run it. Follow the warnings on the screen.
17- Right click on the desktop and open the Nvidia control panel.
18- Enter 3D settings and select Gtx 1060 for Physx and check the box below.
19- Bring your laptop from Power Options to High Performance.
20- Download the Gpu-Z program and check the Gtx 1060 values.
21- If the bus interface is running as PCIex 2.0, the process is complete.

               Congratulations ! The Gtx 1060 is ready to be used 😀 .

* If your hard disk boot is GPT, you will need to install a new Windows as MBR.

 Warning! Back up all your files to an external disk.

Windows MBR installation:

1- Print the Windows image with Rufus to the USB memory, except with the Uefi (Csm and Mbr) option.
2- Restart the laptop.
3- Enter the bios with F2.
4- Enter the Secure tab and disable the Secure Boot option.
5- Go to the Boot tab and disable Fast Boot.
6- Activate the Csm option.
7- Insert your USB memory and save the settings and exit.
8. Re-enter the bios and set your USB stick to the first row in the Boot tab.
   Save and exit again.
9- During installation of Windows, delete all disc tracks in the disc menu to be uploaded.
10- Create your partition by saying new disk and start the installation by selecting it.
11- When your laptop finishes loading and restarts, remove your USB stick.
12- Update your drivers using the Driver Booster program when you arrive at the desktop.
13- Now you can apply your eGPU installation step by step.

@NO2Mr, pls create a build guide using this build template to give greater visibility on how to attach an eGPU to this Asus system.
