Can I use AMD or Nvidia GPU with EXP GDC on my laptop screen
I have a Lenovo T520 and im wondering if both AMD and Nvidia cards will work with my laptop screen with the EXP GDC I heard something about only Nvidia cords working with the laptop screen but idk if thats true.
I just want to share my experience related to this question:
I have Lenovo T430s and made successful build on Nvidia GTX 670
Now I still have T430s and want to use RX 570 8gb saphire nitro+
I'm following the same steps as I did in my previous build. But unfortunately I constantly get Error 12. Nvidia card works just fine but AMD - not.
After windows 10 1803 you can use both NVidia and AMD cards to run on internal display. I've test with an Acer V3-571 with a RX 470 and work's fine. You just need to set the game that you will play, to run with egpu. But keep in mind that internal display is not the best way to use EGPU in terms of speed. But still far better than using an IGPU or APU. You can read more here.
2013 Acer V3-571 + RX 470@4Gbps-mPCIe2 + EGPU GDC 8.5c + Windows 10
you have a code 12 because your vga has a very high VRAM for your laptop, some laptop just required 4gb of VRAM
I using AMD and in the controll panel don't have a choice like "High-Performance Processors" like Nvidia do I can not play AMD with laptop screen
