For some reason when i plug in my mpcie egpu on my dell e7240, the igpu is disabled, i can use the egpu with an external monitor, but i cant use the igpu, it gives me an error 43 in device manager

I cant use nando's software, egpu setup 1.35 either, since when i dont plug the egpu, i can use the software but no gpu is detected (because its not plugged in, duh)

But when i do plug in, since the igpu is disabled, the software doesnt display on the egpu, i get a blank screen when i chose how to use the software

Since i dont have hotplug, i cant plug the mpcie when the pc is on.

Can someone please help me?

I have the exact same issue. I have done the dsdt override etc. Large memory area doesn't make a difference.

But I have a hacky solution for now. Fyi, my setup is T540p with exp gdc beast v8.5c connected using mpcie ngff cable, with  a GeForce GTX which I want to use for computation.
I discovered that if I start the laptop connected with the card, without the external display, wait for the bios screen to pass and time it just right to plug in the external monitor to my graphics card, I do have display on both the internal and external screens. The laptop screen uses the igpu and the external screen uses the egpu.
Try this out and let me know.

thx for you suggestion, though i didnt try it, i emailed nando and he replied me saying to do this

https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2012-14-dell-e6430-gtx6704gbpsc-ec2-pe4c-2-1a-win8-1/

and guess what, it worked, im able to use the internal display to play games on my gt 1030 xD

I dont even need a external one plugged in, i just chose on the nvidia painel control to use the 1030 for that program, and it just works

i will probably update my build here pretty soon with photos, tests, and wtv

I'll just borrow this thread since I can't PM yet :/

I see I am running a very similar setup to you richard_mcvann. ( Thinkpad l540, I7 4712MQ, EXP GDC 8.5C and GTX 1660) I am having issues getting my dsdt override done correctly. Did you experience any issues getting this done? I can't get my .aml file to be smaller than the memory dumped dsdt.dat and I can therefore not load my aml as an in-memory substitution through setup 1.35. Do you have any solution to this?

Thinkpad L540, 120hz IPS internal display( N156HHE-GA1), I7 4712MQ, EXP GDC 8.5C (Expresscard), Palit GTX1660 Storm OC eGPU , Adata SU800 1TB SSD, 16GB 2133MHZ HyperX DDR3L.
