If you don't have an external monitor,  no iGPU, you shouldn't use the M.2 interface! Use the TB3 interface.

Laptop : Aorus X5-V7, CPU : I7-7820HK, iGPU : None, dGPU : GTX 1070, eGPU : RTX 2080, interface : Razer core X, ADT-Link R43SG(Nvme M.2)

You have a less-common Nvidia dGPU + eGPU system. There is no iGPU.

eGPU-accelerated internal LCD mode works on iGPU + eGPU systems be that by Nvidia Optimus or Windows 10 hybrid graphics.

The topic title has been suitable adjusted for accuracy.
