EXP GDC Beast 9.x Backward Compatibility w/ Cables
I was wondering if using an old 8.0 cable would work with the 9.0 device?
The context of this is that im getting a machine which uses the M.2 M key but probably not anytime soon. I have a current machine which has the NGFF A/E key which I plan to use/test until I get the new machine.
It would be a waste if I buy the GDC 8.0 with the NGFF A/E cable, and buy another GDC 9.0 when I get a new machine. I plan on buying the 9.0 and use an NGFF A/E cable for my current machine and when my new machine arrives, I could use the M.2 M key cable provided with the 9.0.
It would save me money by just buying the 9.0 if its compatible with the old cables from 8.0.
I would also like to know if connecting one, or even two, mPCIe | NGFF A/E to HDMI cables to a EXP GDC v9.0 will work (without potentially frying anything).
I have a Qotom T5200U with more than one mPCIe slots that is working great with an EXP GDC v8.4 running on a X1 with GEN1 signaling but would love to increase the bandwidth by adding a second mPCIe cable to a EXP GDC v.9.
Any advise will be appreciated!
Same issue here, don't want to pay twice.
