Hi,

I have Asus X550DP, AMD APU A 8 5550M with HD 8550G as iGPU and HD 8670G as dGPU, 6GB of RAM,

i've checked my system's TOLUD is 2,75gb and as far as i researched, most of Asus laptop didnt have mpcie whitelist.

i'm planning to add gtx 750ti through mpcie with EXP GDC beast and sacrifice my wireless card.

has anyone tried to make EXP GDC Beast to work in the similar system as i have?

do i need to buy the Setup 1.3 thingy?

or is it as simply as attach everything on, install nvdia driver, and good to go?

Hi,

I have tried to connect an eGPU to my laptop and failed.

Here is my laptop specs:

ASUS X550DP

-CPU AMD APU A8 5550M

-iGPU in APU: HD 8550G

-dGPU : HD 8600M

-RAM 2+4Gb

-BIOS : AMI

-TOLUD: i've checked and apparently my laptop has 2,75Gb

I used EXP GDC 8.5C MPCIE connector and ZOTAC GTX 750Ti 1Gb DDR5 that doesnt need additional power pin. 120W AC to DC adaptor was used to power that EXP GDC and 750Ti.

after i had connected all of those things properly and pressed power on button on my laptop, it just stuck on ASUS logo. It doesnt even run any POST activity nor any hdd sound was heard. But, the EXP GDC's Led was on and 750Ti's fan was spinning.

probably ASUS has a whitelist for its motherboard.

The method that need to hotplug the EXP GDC while we turn our laptop to sleep and wake it up after we plug EXP GDC was not successful either in my case.

any suggestion?
