Say I purchased an EXP GDC beast 8.0 mpcie version but my laptop uses NGFF so I bought an NGFF cable seperately, will the EXP GDC beast work if I replace the mpcie cable with the NGFF cable?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Also is there anyway for me to know if the egpu setup is working before the entire setup is finished? I'm waiting for the NGFF adapter to be shipped and meanwhile I tried to turn on the egpu setup and nothing had happened

Sorry for the noon question.

I believe it should work. I mean one end of cable is always something like hdmi, so it shouldn't matter what is on other end - expresscard, m2 or ngff. Also you can buy separately exp gdc cable you need, and only cable is different when you buying specified set. As for to check if its working you can only check if it is turning on properly - you have to move one of switches on exp gdc called ATX PWR onto "on", and then when you turn on power supply it should turn on - green light on exp gdc, and also fans on gpu and power supply, or you nned to short green and black cable on 24 pin connector with clip or something similiar

Got an NGFF cable and tested it with the mpcie exp gdc beast dock. Can confirm that the cable are interchangeable.
