[GUIDE] error 12/43 & other detection, bootup, stability & performance issues
Hi guys, I’m trying to install an egpu on my dell latitude 3540 tha already have a radeon hd 8850m. This notebook doesn’t boot with egpu connected, the only way I can make it works is init with wlan card plugged, sleep and make the change. That way my epgu was detected and I could install the drivers, but if I make the same procedure after the drivers are installed the system just freezes after plug the egpu with an nvidia, with an radeon he dont freeze but doesn’t work, show no error, but never uses the egpu. I’m using an EXP GDC.
I bought an eGPU setup for my old Lenovo G480 Laptop since i wont be able to build a new desktop pc or buy new laptop yet. +in very tight budget
Got everything i need to complete the setup today Oct 26, 2017 but unfortunately wasnt expecting that my Laptop wont be able to detect my hardware.
ive tried everything i read in forums and in troubleshooting videos, still, no luck of detecting the 750ti. Switched to UMA Graphics Mode to disable my dGPU GT610, Disabled PXE to Boot Lan, successfully remove whitelist of WLAN (that i thought it restricted to detect gtx750ti, but they said whitelist is for only changing another wifi card), and updated my bios to v9.01 from v3.03.
Not sure what to do now, but i havent tried doing switching pcie speed from auto to gen2 and hot plug wifi.
If someone with a kindhearted one may help me with this concern i will be very thankful. Really wanting to feel that the money i used from buying the setup wont go to waste 🙁
Fall weather has set in and I'm back at trying to make this work.
I'm trying to compile my modified dsdt and have the following error:
COMP is not a method
Can anyone assist? Thank you!

Can you help me with my notebook…after launching game playing 5-10 minutes game give error it stops and the eternal Graphic card’s fans spinning very hard and fastly and graphic card discards from laptop..only after restart or turning off the laptop it stops and continiu work normally…laptop is lenovo g780 graphic card is 1060 3gb and power supply is 450w…please help what is problem 🙁 ?
I received yesterday the EXP GDC Best 8.5c and i have a problem.
My laptop is a Lenovo y570 with i7 2670qm
My egpu is an Nvidia Gtx 960 Strix 2gb
The Psu is Aline 450 W.
I have done all the steps according to the tutorials, disabled dgpu and pxe. The problem is that windows detects the card, but I can.t install any driver because of error 43.
I followed your tutorials about error 43 and still nothing, I tried a lot of older drivers and still nothing.
I flashed and unlocked bios(the lastest one) which gave me the posibility to enable hotplug on the mini pcie…still error 43.
I have changed the 2 buttons from the beast(ATX and TDP to on ) and still the same error.
As i said earlier, the device manager sees my egpu but it appears with error 43 and in gpuz I also see the egpu but without informartion on cores, gpu clock, etc.
I tried all the day to find out(7-8 hours) and can.t figure out what to do…
What can I do to get this work?
Maybe the PSU is not providing enough power to the egpu?
Please help me !
Probably a stupid question, but once I have successfully applied the dsdt override, do I _NEED_ to do something else?
I have gone from Error 12 to Error 43 on my Thinkpad L430, I’m not sure if I need the DIY EGPU software everyone keeps talking about (v1.35)?
I can see the ‘Large Memory’ inside Device Manager, but I cant see my 1060 3gb under the Memory part. Is that just because Error 43 = not initialised = not taking any memory
Guys my setup is:
Laptop : Dell inspiron 15r 5537
Bios : Stock unmodded
Problem : I tried to follow the steps mentioned on the new thread. I have installed everything properly but my laptop's display doesn't show anything. Just a black screen. But the indicator lights are on in the laptop. When i tried to hook up an external display, i can see the windows logo but it freezes there. It doesn't get past that. Now, what should i do to fix this problem?
