[GUIDE] error 12/43 & other detection, bootup, stability & performance issues
Hey, I have a problem that I haven’t seen touched upon yet. I followed the instructions above and my setup worked perfectly fine for a few weeks until I was playing fallout 4. I played it for a few days with no problems, until I encountered a bug where there was no audio, and I discovered a fix online that had me re-install the latest version of directx. This fixed the sound problem, but started so many more. My GTX 1050 is now not working correctly, despite it being on, connected properly, and recognized by my computer. It does literally nothing in the way of games and Heaven Benchmarker previously ran smoothly at around 60 fps is now at 10-11. It is as if the thing isn’t even plugged in. FPS performance has reverted to before I got the card. I recently did a factory reset and wipe and went through the same process again, but the problem somehow persists. I’m out of ideas, and this is the only forum i’ve found that has anything to do with this problem. Any help is appreciated.
Hello Shiftedbeef_! Did you try to enable "Display GPU activity icon in notification area" option? Go to nvidia control panel, click on Desktop and enable it. Then check, if your gtx 1050 is active by clicking on icon in windows notification area. Try running some games, go to desktop and check activity.
Guys, With the help of Nando and others, I was able to successfully setup my egpu setup with 1050ti. But, I am facing weird issues now, when i try to play cs go in medium settings i am getting only 20 -30 fps that too with a lot of stutters and lags. I googled for it but couldn’t find any solution. I am now loading fc4 to try and test, but can this be fixed?
I am using Dell Inspiron 15r 5537 with stock bios and setup 1.35. The graphics card is connected to an external acer monitor.
Hello, I am currently having an issue with the EXP GDC Beast EGPU adapter. I bought an EVGA SC GTX GeForce 10606Gb for the dock to replace a 1050ti I bought before, which didn’t work. Before the fans would start spinning, and just stop, now, the fans are spinning crazy fast, and sound like airplane turbines. I’m not able to see the egpu in Device Manage though. I have tried using the Dell BIOS, Showing Hidden Options, Using Command Prompt, and reinstalling drivers, but none of that helped.
Specs for Inspiron 5458
Intel Core i7
NVIDIA Geforce 920m
16gb DDR3L RAM (Installed Manually, used to be 8 gb)
1TB 5400RPM HDD
No monitor accept for the built-in one.
If you could help that would be greatly appreciated!
Oh, and please make everything sound “English” as if you were speaking to someone who doesn’t know jack squat about computers.

i made a eGPU rig. External monitor only. It is not output to built-in laptop monitor.
The graphics board (GTX1060 6GB) no longer gets powered, and I sent it for repair.(GPU came back two days ago.)
graphicsboad is get powere, but Not recognized by PC.
There is no GTX 1060 when looking at the device manager.
i think EXP GDC has broken by 2 things
1,Fan speed is slow when energized.
I guess that it is happening because the data transfer is not done correctly

2,linking PC power .
I think that the cable is not broken because the laptop power supply and EXP GDC power supply are linked.

Hi everyone, i’m from Brazil, so sorry for the bad english. Well, I’m having a problem when I turn on the laptop. The first time I’ve turned on the egpu, everything was going right. I downloaded an nivida driver from Gigabyte’s site and installed. But i had a problem, the code 43. So I thought in uninstall the drivers and update for a new version, on nvidia’s site. When i was uninstalling, the screen turned black. I restarted the computer, and since that, when I plug the egpu, the screen stay black, with no light. I’ve tried to restore by a restoration point form before the installation of the driver and used the DDU program for remove anything from nvidia’s drivers. Help me pls, I’m very pissed off, because that worked at the first time and now I can’t find the problem.
I’m using egpu GDC best, an gtx 1060 windforce 3 gb, from Gigabyte and a Corsair CX 450 power supply. My laptop is a Asus ultrabook, model s46ca, with intel I5-3317u, 8gb ram
