[GUIDE] error 12/43 & other detection, bootup, stability & performance issues
I bought EXP GDC a year ago.
It is only working in Gen 1 exrpesscard speed but i used is for this time.
When I change in Bios to Gen 2, card is recognized but all clocks, sensors in GPU-z are “Unknown” or “0”.
I bought PE4C 3.0, connected it today and same problem. Gen 1 is working Gen 2 not.
I tried delays switches and alwayson power supply. (Dell brick)
I also updated BIOS and chipset to newest versions today.
Can i do something with this or laptops expresscard slot is damaged?
Thanks for reply.
i have EXP GDC 8.5C PCIe version and laptop Acer V3-771G (I7 3632QM, 8GB RAM, MB H77) + external R7 260X 1GB, PSU 550W 20+4pin, Windows 7 X64, external VGA monitor with adapter (HDMI-VGA). Built-in Nvidia 710m is completry removed from system.
If i install radeon driver, windows cant recognize my card, and in device manager appears only Standart VGA adapter. If i try to reboot laptop i get black screen after Windows logo.
If i completly remove Intel HD4000 driver and device from device manager, windows starts, video card is recognized as Radeon R7 200 series in device manager. So my laptop accept only 1 graphic card.
But when i try to connect my external display, my laptop wont start, just manufactures logo, even cant acces bios
Could you share an implementation guide how you got your gpu to work with y570
I am stuck at the part where my laptop doesn't recognize the egpu at boot.
And I'm unable to enable hotplug as the EFI shell (Insyde version) doesnt boot to shell.
I too have a y570 with EXP GDC 8 and NVIDIA 1080. However, no amount of fiddling helps me get the egpu detected.
Can you tell me what BIOS version, hw setup you used and your sequence of steps? Thanks.
– HP 8470p (half size WLAN + full size WWAN mPCI slot)
– $ 7 eGPU adapter
– 350W Codegen PSU
– Gigabyte 8600GT (passive, no external power)
– XFX 9600GT (active, no external power)
– I use UEFI and Windows 10
– The WWAN slot has whitelist, I used the WLAN slot.
If the assembly were to work, then maybe I would buy a GTX 660 or a GT 1030.
The problem is the following:
My laptop does not want to detect the card.
If I connect the egpu before boot, the laptop screen is black and stops.
If my laptop is sleeping and I plug in egpu, it is black and freezes.
I tried to turn on the hotplug by a description, but my BIOS is not suitable for this.
I tried many things but nothing.
My laptop also has an ExpressCard (it can be configured in BIOS gen1 and gen2).
Because ExpressCard hotplug is capable, so I was hoping to succeed.
I ordered an Expresscard USB extension that I modified.
Expresscard was soldered to mPCI-e.
When it was ready, I tried it.
When connected, the system speed slowed dramatically.
I am new to the egpu world.
This is my first post, I apologize for any mistakes.
- Lenovo i5 2520m
- EXP GDC 8.5c Express Card + Be Quiet PurePower 10 CM 600W
- GT 770 Palit 4GB.
- 4GB RAM
List of steps I’ve made:
- Connected gpu + exp gdc + notebook
- Power on
- Black screen of the handset
- Turn on only notebook display (no ext. Connected)
- Windows starts
- Device manager shows GTX 770 but with error 12.
- Tried this guide: https://egpu.io/forums/pc-setup/fix-dsdt-override-to-correct-error-12/#step1
But when I try to compile the dsdt, I always get some errors I do not know how to fix it.
- For Intel Method I get: syntax errors, unexpected parseop .. etc etc
- For Microsoft Method I get: error: AR00 is not a method
Thanks so much!
- I'm using a SAI to protect and stabilize the electric line.
- I have tried with two diferrent PSU. Both are decent and good quality.
- I'm not using the usb of the adapter.
- I'm using a usb hub that is powered apart from the computer.
I've ordered some ferrite beads and that's the last thing to try. I don't know what to do, but my system is very unestable. It reboots after some minutes.
I have literally tried everything I can think of.
After unsuccessfully trying to set up gtx 1050, I decided to take a break. Now I want to set up gtx 960 instead. I have already reported about my problem, but I have not found a solution yet. That is why I decided to describe my issue again. I know that I might sound annoying, but everything I want is to finally find a solution , because I am struggling to get my eGPU working since september 2017. I have read almost every topic about error 43 on this and other forums, but nothing helped me.
So my problem is, that I get error 43 in device manager for gtx 960. I am using newest nvidia driver (390.77). Graphic card is normally detected in device manager, but fans do not spin (as I know gtx 960 cards activate them when card is hot enough).
I have already tried to:
-install 370.72 driver
-set ATX power switch to ON
-set delay to 7s
-disable my dGPU (gt 720m) before installing driver
-disable my dGPU after installing driver
-different combinations of atx power and delay switch positions
-clean install windows 10 (windows is installed on UEFI)
I could also try to:
-force gen1 speed using setup 1.35
-change exp gdc or 6pin to 6pin cable
I was surpised, whe faced #43 problem with my old 560 TI 448 cores... Well that tutorial fixed the #43 error, but now I've got BSOD with nvlddmkm.sys SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_HANDLED. lmao.
