Hello Forum,

my Laptop (Packardbell Easynote LS11HR, i7) has an "advanced options" bios installed, which I utilize mainly for thermals.

This Gives a LOT of PCIe Options which I don't understand.

If  someone could suggest me how to set up for eGPU that would be nice.

The Bios is InsydeH20

Here are the Functions:

  • PCI Express Clock Gating
  • DMI Link ASPM Control
  • DMI Vc1 Control
  • DMI Vcp Control
  • DMI Vcm Control
  • DMI Extended Synch Control
  • DMI Gen 2
  • ForceSetAllPchPcieInGen1

Then there are 8 PCIe Root Ports, which I sadly cannot Identify using PCI-Z, which each have the Following Options:

  1. Automatic ASPM
  2. URR
  3. FER
  4. NFER
  5. CER
  6. CTO
  7. SEFE
  8. SENFE
  9. SECE
  10. PME Interrupt
  11. PME SCI
  12. Hot Plug
Spoiler
Bios Descriptions
  1. Automatically enable ASPM based on reported capabilities and known issues
  2. PCI Express Unsupported Request Reporting Enable/Disable
  3. PCI Express Device Fatal Error Reporting Enable/Disable
  4. PCI Express Device Non-Fatal Error Reporting Enable/Disable
  5. PCI Express Device Correctable Error Reporting Enable/Disable
  6. PCI Express Completion Timer T0 Enable/Disable
  7. Root PCI Express System Error on Fatal Error Enable/Disable
  8. Root PCI Express System Non-Fatal Error Enable/Disable
  9. Root PCI Express System Error on Correctable Error Enable/Disable
  10. Root PCI Express PME Interrupt Enable/Disable
  11. PCI Express PME SCI Enable/Disable
  12. PCI Express Hot Plug Enable/Disable

Despite all that said, I can't get any PCIe device working, whether it be a GPU or a Gigabit Lan card, none show up in PCI-Z nor the Device Manager.

Edit: When I change the mPCIe adapter to a PCIe x1, it works fine on a Desktop

The setup is as follows

HP Elitebook 840 g2

EXP GDC Beast 8.5

GTX 1060 3GB

550w PSU

Hardware wise everything seems to work fine, the PSU fan is spinning, the GPU fan is spinning, green LED on the beast. but the gpu is not being detected, nothing new shows up in the device manager and when I try to install the driver I get two error (compatible hardware not found) and (This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows) though I believe I can sort the second one out

Anyone have a clue what's going on?

I don't even know where to look next since there isn't an error for me to know where to go

I'm uncertain whether it's because of whitelisting because my laptop bootup just fine without any of HP's signature "wireless module not supported"

and apparently HP stopped whitelisting their laptop since 2015 and late 2014 (when my laptop was released) model should not have it aswell

Can I solve this with setup 1.35?

Here to comment that after a long lonnnnnng troubleshooting I manage to make it work on

  • DELL Inspiron r17 5720 (i7 3537U 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD & Integrated shitty 630m Nvidia GPU) with a beast Zotac 750Ti

And I had this simply fixed by a random comment by a guy called "CanadianFail" saying that all Dell laptops should isolate pin22 (attachment) which surprisingly it just work, before that you have to turn off the PSU to pass the BiOS.

If you need any help I could do you may contact me in discord: CGtheAnnoying#5834

All the thanks ofcourse goes to @Nando4 for all that amazing work, you're the real MVP buddy.

hi, I bought "PCE164P-N03 mPCIe adapter" as in the picture. I connected everything to the pc. I put a jump on my power supply.
The card turns on. The power supply turns on.
But in device management the card does not appear.

Do I have to install DIY eGPU Setup 1.35 and do the whole procedure?

egpu = 1050 ti
psu = bequiet 500w
dgpu = nvdia 640tm

this is so frustrating... I have a Radeon 7950 plugged into a GDC beast (both light up and fans spin) its plugged into my dell latitude E6540's extra PCIe mini port. yet it still will not show in my device manager list. I've tried switching ports with the wifi card I have updated my bios I've checked all the connections but it is not showing up. Do I need to uninstall my integrated graphics first? any suggestions are very appreciated.

Hello,

I am currently having problems with setting up eGPU on my laptop. Below is a list of the components I have:

I have connected it all, but I have failed to find the GTX 650 Ti in device manager. I tried downloading Geforce Experience, but the application failed to detect the GPU. I decided to restart the laptop, and it booted into a black screen. Whenever the EXP GDC Beast is disconnected, it will boot normally after being turned on again.

I am uncertain how to proceed, and any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

i bought an EXP GDC V8.5C but got the wrong connector cable delivered. My Notebook HP 250 G7 has a M.2 Key A port but I got the mini Pci-e version. So I bought this adapter: ebay.de/itm/A-E-A-E-to-Mini-PCI-E-Adapter-WiFi-Wireless-Adpater-FPC-Cable-M-2-NGFF-Key/273519879851?hash=item3faf0e26ab:g:8PsAAOSwOkxbzYWa

Everything worked fine but the GTX 760 worked with about 80%.

So I ordered a new EXP GDC with the right M.2 Key A connector cable and noticed that it is the same Beast V8.5C and I can use the old one with the M.2 connector and sell the new one with the PCI-E connector.

I disconnected the mentioned adapter for key A and directly connected the beast with the new cable. --> Performance great, every benchmark delivers values above the expectation.

BUT: When I have used the GPU for a while I get crashed all the time. The screen freezes or just goes black and the pc restarts. Especially when I watch videos it freezes and crashes.

The PSU is an old Enermax Liberty 400W. I already swtiched the ATX button on the beast, tried different PTDs (off, 7, 15), set everything to performance and not energy saving and also tried switching the PCI-E port to Gen 1 via DIY eGPU 1.35, GPU-Z shows nothing unusual. Even Furmark works with stable FPS without crashing and the temperature is constantly 59 deg C.

Any ideas why the pc crashes although everything should work fine?

Thanks in advance.
