Hey guys! I am trying to make a build with my Dell Precision M3800 and Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ SE using an EXP GDC beast through an NGFF port. I have previously tried it out with an EVGA GTX 960 and it work flawlessly. With RX 580 I am facing an issue though - it doesn't get detected by my PC in any way. Neither it can be seen in device manager nor by driver installer - I keep getting an error 173. This never happened with an Nvidia card - both 960 and 1080 were always detected.

I have tried fix 5 i) from this guide. I have deactivated my PCIe #3 port, plugged in eGPU and booted my PC again. The thing is, now this port is not available at all... Neither for Wi-Fi card nor eGPU. In Device Manager it is not visible until I check "view hidden devices". After that, I see it "ghosted". It gets an error 45 - the system says that the PCIe port is not plugged to my PC. It can't be turned on again.

Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Seeking to build a eGPU on my Dell Precison M3800 (i7-4712HQ, 12GB 1600MHz, Win 10); possibilities: M.2 PCIe a+e socket or Thunderbolt 2

Hi, I'm willing to buy a eGPU adapter for my laptop (v8.0 EXP GDC), I know there are cheaper versions, but from where I'm from, this is the only one I can really buy. I've already disassembled my Laptop, a HP Pavilion 15-bc018nl, (i7-6700HQ, 8Gb Ram DDR4, GTX 950M 2GB GDDR5) and I've an M.2 nvme and a NGFF port, currently, because I've the M.2 nvme port used for the SSD, I'll use the NGFF (I've an USB 5Ghz WiFi Adapter, so it's not a problem), I know also that the performance of the NGFF are lower compared to the M.2 nvme because is x1 vs x4. Anyway, the only thing I'll buy for the moment is the eGPU adapter, because I've already have a 500W PSU, an external monitor, and a AMD Radeon 6700 or 6900 series (was my brother GPU, so I don't remember exactly), which I'll test to see if everything working fine, and then manage to buy a more powerful gpu that can work well with the i7-6700HQ. My only concern is that I've read that some HP Laptop can have some port blacklisted and so they can not recognize other hardware plugged in, is there a way to see if my NGFF port is blacklisted or it will work fine with the eGPU adapter? Thank you in advance and sorry if I said or did something wrong, but I'm new to the forum.

Hey folks,

I bought the DH370 from Shuttle, hoping to make an eGPU setup via R43SG M.2 with an RX570. The RX570 is working fine on my desktop computer, but when I plug it on the R43SG powered by a dell PSU and connected to the M.2 nvme port of the Shuttle DH370, gpu fans are running etc but I cannot see it in the device manager. I saw some videos online and they all seem to see it directly in the device manager.

Any ideas what could be wrong or how to troubleshoot that problem?

Thank you.

This guide has nothing to do with R43SG and no infos about trouble shooting an M.2 2280 slot, I have tried everything as far as power is concerned through the switches. Why my topic is redirected here?

I have intermittant handshake between the devices on cold starts or bootups.  (code 43 when it doesn't work)

Every now and then it is working

GPU z says 1.1 or 1.2 for an interface connection (it goes back and forth)

It seems to be working better with the 441.41-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql-rp drivers, It was more stable on the bios GMET86WW, than the GMET90WW.  I wish I could down grade.

T540P - i7-4810MQ
Bios version: GMET86WW
iGPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600
dGPU: None
eGPU: Nvidia 970
Beast 8.5C Dock (3m aluminum tape covered cable)
Nvidia Driver 419.67
Windows Home 10 1809
I do not use SETUP 1.35, and do not recommend it. Only way to use it is with MBR/legacy boot. I was instructed to switch to MBR, and was not given any other choices or direction.
GPU-z will tell you your PCI speed for what setting to use your express card at.
My help request post was deleted by the mods/owner when I was asking for documentation on how to use his product. Not cool.

Hey, I'm having some issues trying to connect an EXP GDC Beast v8.4d to my mac running macOS High Sierra, it's not getting detected in any way, but the green led inside the EXP is on and the fans for the gpu spin up immediately after powering on the power supply, tried out 3 gpus: HD 7950, Vega 56 and GTX 580. Any help?

Started making my own EGPU setup earlier today. I’ve got an MSI ge70 Apache pro 2pe laptop, 500w cooler master PSU, the GDC beast with the MPCIE adapter and a gtx 1060 3gb GPU. I’ve been into my bios changed the correct settings to allow for the GPU to be detected but when I start up the machine the 1060s fan spins for about 30 seconds before powering down.

im open to any suggestions on how to fix this and can post pics if necessary. TYIA

Admittedly a newbie here. Need some help.

Using an MSI GT780DX with a PCIe connection and an RTX2070 Super. The laptop has 32GB Ram and is running windows 10 (64) (1803 build 17134.1246 ). I do have the RTX 2070 Super hooked up to an external monitor.

The 2070 does not show up in the devices menu under display adapters or PCIe. I tried putting it to sleep and then starting the eGPU and then bringing the laptop out of sleep mode, but so far I have not gotten this to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The light is green on the BEAST EXP and the fans are spinning, but I just get a black screen on the external monitor.

Thanks!

i managed to get the GT780DX to recognize see my RTX2070 (eGPU). It was now recognized as a basic Microsoft VGA under the PCI device in Device Manager. I was then able to install the device driver. Now I am dealing with the Error 12

For anyone interested I will post my complete method here once I am done.

Right now I am running into "acpidump is not recognized as an internal or external command" (as administrator in command prompt) whenever I try to follow the directions for creating the tables to edit.

Hopefully, someone may be able to chime in and help me through this part.

Thanks!
