Hello, I have an EGPU GDC ExpressCard connection. I made the connections, the video card turned on normally, but it does not appear in the device manager. It is a GT 640, but only the original Radeon 8650G on the laptop appears. When I try to install the Nvidia drivers the card is not found. Is there any procedure that needs to be done to get everything ok? Thank you

Still haven't gotten mine to work a few weeks now, in need of some advice.

I am running Samsung laptop NP470R5E-K01UB

12g ram

Gtx 1060 3gb

When I do a clean wipe of all Nvidia driver with the driver Uninstaller program. I reinstall latest Nvidia firmware and then run code 43 fixer bat it seems to work. However once I restart gtx 1060 is back to code 43 but this time when I run the code 43 bat fixer it says that's it already edited in the registry and I should check for more fixes. Any advice. Also in I try to disable and renable my gtx 1060 I get a blue screen and a restart.

Connected RADEON RX 550 AERO ITX 4G OC via EXP GDC to LG 32qn600 31 monitor.5" and the MSI GE70 0nd 216 laptop.

In the settings of Windows 10, I made the LG monitor the main one.

Running TFTTEST with animation. The following information is displayed at the top left:
Cur 2560 x 1140 32 bit 75 hz
27,0Hz 37.0ms
Vh=10 p/c Vv=10p/c
Animation is very slow.

I insert the same video card into a PC. Running the same test. Output information:
Cur 2560 x 1440 32 bit 75 hz
75Hz 13.3ms
Vh=10 p/c Vv=10 p/c.

I attach photos.

If I run it via EXP GDC, the animation slows down not only in the test, but also in Windows. For example, I type something, and the text sometimes does not have time to be displayed on the screen. Or I minimize the window and notice that the animation is jerky, twitching. I haven't tried playing games.

Questions.

Is it about the EXP GDC bandwidth (and there's nothing I can do about it)? Mini PCI Express buses in the laptop (and everything will work well on the newer laptop)?
How can I speed up the animation? Insert a more powerful card? And other than that, how else can I speed it up?

Like many on this forum, I spent many hours (over a week) trying to get my little eGPU side project working and ran into all kinds of issues, was about to give up and thew nvidia-error43-fixer script fixed it for me.

My setup:

  • Lenovo W540 (with both the Intel and Nvidia GPU)
  • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super (Zotac Gaming)
  • EXP GDC connected to laptop via EC

Up until the point of running this script, I had both errors 19 and 43 on Windows 10. Had to reinstall Windows to get rid of error 19, and only with this script got the eGPU to work as planned. Thank you! Donation already submitted!

Couple of questions:

  • I still haven't been able to get NVidia Control Panel to open. Have been making all my changes via Windows Control Panel. Are you aware of any additional steps needed to get Nvidia to open? In my case it doesn't even open.
  • Should I be able to run several monitors on the external card or it designed to have a single monitor?

Thanks!

When I launch a game or just watching a vidéo on youtube the fans of My CG card go faster and then it shutdown and restart itself.
I try using msiafterburner but the problem still the same.

I use this EXP GDC  connected to laptop via PCI-E
My CG is a pny rtx2600
I use a AEROCOOL Cylon 600W as supply

Is there something more to do ?

Hi guys,

Desperately need your help.. I have no where else to turn and would be forever grateful if you guys can help me make it work. I've experienced it all with this machine.. Really wanting this to work.

I bought an old work laptop as an upgrade to my current express card setup on an old Dell, with the idea of using an m2 cable via the wifi m2 slot.

Laptop specs:

- HP 840 g3

- I7 6600U

- 32gb ram

- 500gb ssd

Egpu:

- Beast EGPU

- M2 ngff cable

Gpu:

MSI RX 570 8GB OC

Now all of this worked perfectly via the express card on my older laptop but this isn't as easy. Over to this HP - I've taken out the wifi card and installed the cable in correctly. Set the complete egpu up and powered on the 840 G3.

What I get is constant boot cycles, Acpi bios errors and not reading the card... I then u ticked network boot and did my best with the bios as it really wasn't as simple to find anything compared to all the YouTube clips I tried watching.

So after all this I tried hotplugging as it's booting up and the card doesn't get detected. I then found out that you can use Nando Eva's program "diy egpu setup" but struggle to get it to appear in bios as the videos suggest aswell..

This laptop is such a good laptop and would be perfect for my setup.. Really begging for your expertise guys

Thank you Excitement

I have an HP Elitebook 8570w with

CPU: Intel i7 Quad Core @ 2.70GHz,

GPU: AMD FirePro M4000 1GB

RAM: 16GB,

STORAGE: 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD

I made a setup of gtx 1060 6gb with exp dgc, 450w corsair psu and external display.

And as usual, I got error 12, after fighting for 2 days l, finally able to compile the dsdt tables code and got large memory section in device manager.

After this, I got error 43 but that's pretty easy to solve so I was able to get rid of this too.

And after that, my system started to working very smoothly.

On one night I finished my 3d work, shutdown everything and gone to sleep. On the next morning I try to power on everything but this time external display didn't show anything. I checked device manager and there is no egpu.

After this I tried a lot of things that I found on the internet to solve this issue but no success.

I checked power supply voltages with multimeter and checked express card to hdmi cable too for faulty connection, these both are ok.

Current situation:

1. exp gdc dock green led light working

2. gpu fans are spinning well

3. power supply is good

4. express card to hdmi cable is good

Problem:

1. laptop not detecting setup

WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Thank you for everything that found on this forum.

@nando4 and all others

First of all thanks for the detailed reviews and comments. I have decided to build egpu, Spent almost 2 weeks in forums ,read all detection problem posts, inspect successful builds , (did my homework :)) , but somehow i have failed and i require your help.

Here is the situation ;

Computer :

-Asus K56cb / CPU: i7-3537U / HM76 chipset / dGPU: Nvidia GT 740 M / iGPU HD Graphics 4000 / Windows 10 64 bit (10.0 18363) / Ram : 8 gb  / SSD : 250 gb

Egpu setup :

- eGPU: GTX 1060 3 GB  / EXP GDC 8.5c / 400 watt Psu (aerocool) / minipci connection  / +external monitor with HDMI connection

Status

-all connections are done correctly

-exp gdc lights on - green

-GTX 1060 fans are working

Unfortunately; NO DETECTION in any of the following case.

Things i tried on each pci express port ( i got two pci express slots , first one is for the wifi , the other one is free ) :

-ATX power on / off

-PTD Delay ( off , 7s , 15s)

-disabled the port that dgpu connect

-used DDU in safe mode ,but nvidia doesnt let me install a driver because no gpu detected. (dgpu's port was disabled )

image

- put in sleep and than plug the cable etc. (as nando explained )

- disable NIC , boot into windows with wifi card , disable it . etc. (as nando explained 5-i)

- pin 22 thing , put a tape (as nando explained 5-ii)

Things i did not try:

- windows UEFI install ( this option is too painful for me because;

1- i have to make some  research  , i dont know anything about it.  Ok i found it. But my Windows is already UEFI / GPT mode.

            http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_Windows_in_UEFI_mode

2- partition on SSD was not made - its just "C:" Smile . So i need to backup everything.

- nando's eGPU Setup 1.35 (if its gonna help for the detection, i can buy it.)

Thats why i believed that i can make it work, but i could not until now Smile

Below you may also find the report created by HWinfo and other screen shots.

Hope you can guide me Smile
