[GUIDE] error 12/43 & other detection, bootup, stability & performance issues
I have an Acer Aspire V (VN7-592G) laptop that I added a M.2 eGPU to. But I can't seem to get the BIOS to detect the card is plugged in. I've been working on a solution for almost 12 hours straight with nothing to show for it aside from unlocked BIOS.
GPU fans are spinning, RGB is working. My brain is fried. I've done so many things to try to fix this I'm not sure I could even remember them all. Anyone else having such issues trying to connect via m.2?
CPU: Intel I7-6700HQ
GPU: Asus ROG strix 3060 OC
PSU: Asus TUF Gaming 650W
Also I should mention I have no access to any other computer to try the GPU in.
Let me know if I missed anything.

Hi guys, I am still trying to troubleshoot my eGPU, which only turns on for a second when booting. (M.2 Key EXP GDC Beast)
I have read a lot of replies that isolating pin 22 helped. I would therefore like to try it.
Could you please tell me which one Pin 22 is? Is it simply the 22nd pin from the left?
Hi everyone, noob here, and apologies in advance if this is not the place to post this. I recently got the EXP GDC for my old HP Probook 430 G2, for a GTX 650 Ti that has been laying around. Now, I did try to do my homework and all and read through the troubleshooting guides, but somehow this problem does not really pop up elsewhere. When I start the notebook with the GDC connected, it goes thorugh all the booting motions, and it does seem to detect my card. However, the first red flag is that my external monitor does not activate (laptop monitor does work, however). After I install the latest drivers, I either join the club of 43, or device manager simply says that all is working fine and that's that. GPU-Z does not detect the card, there is no Nvidia control panel available, and the external monitor does not work at all.
Any ideas what it might be? I read a lot about HP loving to whitelist ports etc, but the laptop starts just fine, so unless I am missing something, it's probably not that.
HP Probook 430 G2
Core i5 4210U@ 1.70Ghz (upgraded from i3 at one point)
Bios: Hewlett-Packard-M74ver01.16, 26nov.-15
EXP GDC mPCIE, HP Probook 430 G2 Core i5 4210U,Bios: Hewlett-Packard-M74ver01.16, 26nov.-15,8GB Ram,Win10 Pro,MSI GTX650Ti
First, here is my setup:
Lenovo W541, i7 4810MQ, Win10 64bits
EXP GDC v8.3E with Expresscard cable
Dell DA-2 PSU
External LCD screen (internal LCD disabled)
My problem is:
- When I set the power managment of the expresscard to Gen1 in the BIOS, everything works well, but bandwith is really bad in FS2020 (9fps)
- When I set it to Automatic, Windows starts, but few seconds or minutes later, I get a BSOD VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE
So my goal would be to make it work with Gen 2.0 EC so that I get a better bandwith and performance in FS2020.
I tried :
- to disable the internal CD screen and keep only external screen
- to disable eGPU audio device
- to set Frame rate limiter to 60FPS in Nvidia inspector
- to change my PSU for an ATX (650W), but didn’t changed
- to switch on the « ATX PWR » button of the beast but nothing changed (it didn’t kept on when W541 is off).
- to wrap the EC cable with aluminium layers : not working.
Now I don't really know what to do next: I searched the forum for similar issues and ideas but didn't find more info.
Thanks for your help !

Tried searching for related topics and couldn't find anything. I have an Asus G73JH and bought a GTX 1060 6Gb gpu, Corsair rm750 psu, and an EXP GDC to run mPCIe conne tion to laptop. Everything powers up but if card and exp gdc are on before wibdows 7 boots I get a black screen. If I turn psu and card on after it is not recognized by device manager so I can't set it up.
Any ideas on what I did wrobg would be very welcone at this point. Thank you everyone.
