Notebookcheck review for the external GPU. Performance on external display is better than then 2021 Zephyrus Duo 15 with its 115 + 15W 3080. Under load it can get hot and loud, as is typical for gaming notebooks. Seems to be very well working all around, I wish the max storage wasn't limited to 1TB.

Wow, 50+dbA. No thanks! One of the main reasons I like using an eGPU vs loud gaming notebook is that it can be practically silent. I'll gladly do that and give up some performance over having a jet engine that my wife is going to constantly complain about.

Edit : Numbers are pretty good in real gaming situation, 150w XG egpu competing with 320W+ TB3/TB4 egpu !

I applaud ASUS for trying new concepts with their products. While the new connector provides much needed improvement in bandwidth, I don't think the form factor is the best idea. They should have used the ASUS XG Pro enclosure to refine power supply output and integrate that connector.
Can you use the new pcie gen 4 m.2 slots in Intel laptops for an eGPU connection? Would be as good as the asus connector.
No confirmation of existing M.2 eGPU adapter being able to run at PCIe 4.0 x4 speed just yet. I've been looking for a good Tiger Lake laptop with dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots.

Can't agree more.
I wish they launch a full size eGPU enclosure with that connector !
Jarod's Tech posted his overview review of the Asus ROG Flow X13 + XG Mobile.
I'm configuring my own Flow X13 now and will post a "build" report soon. I'm impressed with the battery life (5 to 10 hours, stream 3 movies on wifi). I can confirm the stylus is very responsive and supports angle as well as pressure.
