Hi. I decided to start a topic because i didnt find anything. I just know it's possible (even linus tech tips did it).

So, I'm making a egpu setup with all-in-one pc based on wibtek motherboard.
I don't remember motherboard model, thing is, it doesnt have dgpu, it's core i3 4th gen on it, it's around 2012-2013, it's h81, no pcie x16 x8 x4 slots, just 2 mpcie 2 slots, igpu is hd 4400, the processor is a desktop-type.

I tried to run 1060 via 7 bucks riser, works fine with external display and 10xxm latest drivers.
When I force-enable igpu to load, so that's how internal display works, I can run 2 displays. thing with windows 10 builtin video switching was not working.
on external display everything. and I cannot run it on internal.

if there any tips to run it on internal display?

So I think, if nothing will work, i'll try to hook internal display with edp-dp convertion. and afterwards, I'll make a monitor from aio pc.

And yes. on this wibtek crap there are 2 mpcie slots. can I use them both somehow for connecting videocard? cause re2 freezes sometimes. think it's because x1 gen2 is not enough.

Have you tried this?

"For those who wondering how to accelerate you apps or games with internal display on windows 10 1803 and later.

You have to manualy choose which app should use or not the external graphic card.
To do that you must go to Settings->System->Display and go to "Advanced graphics settings", in that page just select the .exe of your game or app and them select "High performance". But keep in mind of the performance loss using internal display." Myself

Capturar
And i think your igpu must always stay activated, at least mine is.
About the the 2 mpcie2 slots, i don't think you can, but i can't say for sure.

well, yes, i've read this, but still.
for test i tried to run osu!, both external and internal display was performing poor, and it was like video card was not in use. I'm used to find applications that using nvidia gpu in tray icon, but it was not there. more than that, when booting comes through cmos, despite bios settings mobo thinks that nvidia video adapter is primary. and when egpu is connected, i can check bios settings only if external monitor is connected.

Correct me if I am wrong, if i understand, your system does not show the nvidia application when the
computer is without an egpu connected to an external video (does it show any error code on device manager?).

I think that who decides which video card to run certain application is the windows itself. In my notebook, for example,
it has an internal video card from intel, that regardless of whether or not I use the egpu, it is the intel card who show the
video on the internal screen of the notebook.
That above only says for windows, which video card should do the heavy work to run the game.

Another thing, did you try using another game to test?
Can you turn on your pc only with igpu and egpu without external video and send a screenshot of
the device manager?

Thanks!
