ZBook 15 G1/G2- i'm so confused...
Can someone confirm that G2 has working/not working ExpressCard slot for eGPU? In ThiefInferno is topic where nando4 is writed that EC is non-functional, but here in EC Candidate list is listed.
Is any simple way to recognize G1 or G2? Booth can have K1100M and K2100M and FHD :/

I could not get EC eGPU detection on a Zbook 15 G2 no matter what I tried. The unit was returned.
The G2 uses a Thunderbolt2 controller and shares it’s EC port using a PCIe bridge with a couple of other peripherals. G1 is a better system for EC use since it has a PCIe port to itself but it has a Thunderbolt1 controller.
Did anyone ever try swapping a G2 daughter board for a G1 version to fix that?
HP Zbooks have a lot of security set (whitelisting & Thunderbolt). I’d guestimate the G1 BIOS has a Thunderbolt1 only daughterboard whitelist.
hwfreak, added Note: faulty EC slot?? against the ZBook 15&17 G2. Question marks because I never got an answer from HP confirming the EC slot was the case. No replication using say an eSATA card, nothing. They did however accept a return.
