We found ourselves here due to the TI sinking ship. This website and forum was built within the past week over Thanksgiving break. We know there are many missing sections and components. Please let us know what you’d like eGPU.io to feature.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions!

A small suggestion, as I think we need some extra forums:
1) A forum for non-Thunderbolt eGPU solution discussions (Essentially to discuss people working with BPlus and GDC adapters).
2) Separate implementation and discussion forums, as it looks like the implementations and discussions are currently happening at the same forum, or am I missing something?

Cheers,
Y.

Thank you for the suggestions. How should we label this non-Thunderbolt eGPU forum so that it makes the most sense?

As this community grows, we’ll definitely add more sub-forums.

"Expresscard, mPCIe and M.2 Adapters"? That is very obvious what it is for. Might be a bit too long, though, I am not sure how well it fits into the UI.

I would be grateful (and I bet many other people) if a Linux section was created as well.

Thanks.

Hi

I joined the forum hoping to get help from others who like me was trying to connect a video card to a laptop that was being held back because of an outdated video card hardwired into the motherboard . I have the macbook pro 17 late 2011 and slowly got what others recommended pcie box akito thunderbolt 2, corsair 750watt atx power supply and a Nvidia GTX gforce gtx 980 graphics card.  Then nothing all stopped apart from people stating lock ups and a work around to plug in at a given time I got cold feet I know somebody very cleaver has writen scrips to help with the installation but I have a maxed out macbook that is stable and allow me to video edit. I have looked through countless postings for an quick fix just lots of dead ends and I feel that people have asked questions but answers are in jargon or only answer part of the question its not easy and I feel I have more to loose then to gain.

I would love to see a very simple check list of workable conponents required to attach a external video card based on what modal of computer and then a must do to get it up and running and not in any Jagon. There Ive now said it I bet some cleaver person is going to enlighten me that the forum has done this already and Ive lost the plot.

Regards

Andy
