So I have a Mid 2017 MBP running windows 10 1904 and I had issues trying to get a sonnet puck rx5700 running in bootcamp. I had the problem where you get stuck at windows initial blue logo boot where nothing happens. I finally got it to work using goalques efi solution on another forum I seen here and success, the first rx5700 breakaway puck works fine. However when I got a second one and attempted to form a daisy chain I could get it to work in mac os but not in windows bootcamp. Now with both connected when I try to use the efi boot it freeze/crashes. I can hot plug them in at windows spinning logo after efi or bootcamp load but both show up with error 12. I seem to have gone back to error 12 with yellow exclamation point after adding a second box can anyone please help?

@jdouxby, Don't daisy-chain eGPU. I would say to connect one eGPU per side so that each eGPU has its own Thunderbolt controller/PCIe root port in Windows. Also make sure to disable the PCIe connection to the dGPU so that there are more resources for two eGPUs.

@itsage, I have two thunderbolt ports on left side of the mac and I have one egpu plugged into each not daisy chaining anymore. I have enough resources for the first but not the second. Do you mean like if I disable the intel iris plus graphics? Because I tried that and it didn't seem to work. Also I apologize in advance I'm a total noob when it comes to this computer stuff so you may need to dumb it down for me lol. But just so you know I did like identically the set up you had with your 2017 mbp with a rx560 i just used a 5700 instead. Which worked but once i got the second one plugged in i got the resource error on one of the two 5700s.

@jdouxby, Error 12 in Boot Camp can be due to many different factors. I would start with the most eGPU-friendly version, Windows 10 1903 V1 to have the best chance. 2 AMD eGPUs in Boot Camp is an even bigger challenge. I don't think the iGPU has a significant in freeing resources but you can try. I typically disable other unused components first.

@itsage, Do you think this could do the trick for me? Clean install of 1903 v1 and then, what, never update again or until its compatible?

@itsage, so wiped like everything and tried from the beginning. I used windows 1903v1 for bootcamp and didn't need to even use an efi boot if I just hot plugged the 5700 in during windows spin logo and it worked fine. But when I tried plugging in both only one would recognize and have enough resources. What would you recommend I should disable to try to free resources and how? Also, would it help if I plugged in an external display monitor and try and disable the intel igpu? Or is there a laptop you'd recommend that won't run into the resource error or is it just an amd thing?
