Would it be possible to extend the entire website to fill the browser view? Currently, it has black bars on either side.
I personally prefer black-on-white text for the top bar. Goes much better with the forum section.
The text highlight color for the header is white and does not look good on a light background. Plus, I liked the font used before for the entire site.
The font size of text in the drop down menus (such as FORUM, HOW-TO) could be larger - it might look better.
The favicon/bookmark icon has a white background. A transparent background would look better. This is how it currently looks:
Thank you for making the requested changes! Appreciate it. The last gripe I have is the font as aforementioned. The one that was set for a brief period of time while the design was undergoing changes was great (looked like Apple's default SF font I guess?).
Nah, it's not the currently set font. This one seems too narrow.
Using Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20180118054639/egpu.io/forums
Check out the font on the right - "Recent Posts" and that list. That looks great, although the size of the font for the "Recent Posts" section seems too large in that snapshot.
Quoted text currently seems to have a font style I'm looking for... maybe that's the one.
Also noticed that the font in quotes is different than normal text.
Different font here.
@mac_editor, I’ve made the font changes to the Apple SF one. Indeed, looks great. Thank you for your suggestion 🙂

It’s looking great! 👍 eGPU.io is officially the sexiest forum I’ve browsed 😉
The How-To menu should also show setup for macOS High Sierra w/ NVIDIA eGPUs (@yifanlu's workaround). It may be difficult to locate otherwise.
@mac_editor, @yifanlu‘s workaround has been linked for quite a while as Software->macOS 10.13 Nvidia eGPU support. Based on the view count, it’s been readily found from there and google searches.
Ohhhhhhh is this a subjective opinions on aesthetics thread? Perfect, I'm full of them!
Main Nav, could the "selected" states bar go below the text link as it runs the risk of looking like a loading bar.
Did it for ya...
Remove:
box-shadow: inset 0 4px 0 0px #02aed6;
Replace with:
border-bottom: inset 4px #02aed6;
Remove:
/* border-bottom: 1px solid #ccc; */
on class .x-navbar
.x-navbar .desktop .x-nav > li > a
change: height: 50px; to: height: 55px;

Yes...!
There seems to be no more an option to quote. Would love to have that back (and a more optimized version that does not quote nested quotes would be great - similar to MacRumors forums I believe).
@mac_editor , a quote option is available in the Format->Formats->Blocks->blockquote menu if required. An improved quoting interface was long ago requested from the software developers.
What I mean is that there is no button on others’ posts to quote directly, next to the Reply button.
I see a hero img is being added to the home page.... IMO if you are adding one make it worthwhile... good and high wit ha good picture, and no drop shadow on the type!
.x-content-band
padding: 340px 0;
up from 40px.
If I may ask, what's the forum software backend for this site? I've seen similar layouts for it on sites like Liliputing, but the one here is different in that comments on articles actually correspond to a forum post here. It's a really neat feature.

Thanks guys! I'll be sure to look into it!

Timestamps for posts - My timezone is correctly set for my profile, but I see different timestamps (not according to my zone). While a minor annoyance, having timestamps in local time based on location would be awesome 🙂
@mac_editor, confirmed. There is a forum software bug when using a New York profile time zone. As a workaround, set the time zone to UTC-4hrs which should then show the correct post timestamp for you.
Forum statistics - There were over 8000+ members before. What happened?
Also UTC-4 didn't show correct time. Using UTC-5 and its off by a few minutes lol.
@mac_editor, there were ~2000 members who had no content and hadn’t logged in since June-2017 or earlier. During that timeframe, we didn’t have captcha login protection and were hit by some automated spamming login names. To take a leaf out of your book, a purge cleanup was performed.
Good to hear the post timestamps are sorted.

Haha, nice one there 😂 thanks for letting me know.
Odd scaling in Messages sometimes - this particular case doesn't let me reply to people's messages. Scaling webpage (CMD -) sometimes shows the reply button, but messages get cut off from the view, etc. Would love a fix for that. Am using Safari.
@mac_editor's issue is caused due to a space-free couple hundred characters long HEX value. This causes the iFrame to scale instead of the string to be broken into a new line (maybe one could use a sign for "broken into new line" just as Mathematica does with 3 descending dots)
macOS-eGPU.sh on GitHub (fr34k's macOS-eGPU.sh on eGPU.io)

The font size for H1 (Heading 1) & H2 (Heading 2) are the same - making them indistinguishable. Looks correct in the editing box.
This is Heading 1.
This is Heading 2.
Edit: Thank you for the quick fix 🙂
Messages section issues need to be promptly addressed, as mentioned earlier in this thread - it makes it difficult to share long commands, etc. as the frame widens and hides "Send" button (workaround is to use new lines, but sometimes one forgets).
Also, the Quote button is gone again. Another suggestion is that when a user presses the Reply button, maybe the user of the original post can be mentioned (text box show "@mac_editor <Cursor Here>" if I press reply to my own post, for example) at the start of the text box. Currently it just scrolls down to the text box.
@mac_editor, quote is back. Your great suggestion of mentioning the reply post user has been requested as an enhancement.
I can't upload files anymore. Tried different browsers.
