Bidirectional USB-C DisplayPort?
Anyone seen this? Anyone tried it?
@username Thank you for sharing this new bidirectional DP to USB-C cable. I believe it's similar to the Moshi DP to USB-C cable. There's a fine print on Moshi specs stating the USB-C monitor has to accept a DisplayPort signal over USB-C (UFP_D pin assignment E). You can read this discussion on the Moshi cable.
The Moshi cable is also bidirectional and is VESA certified for HBR3 speed (5K@60Hz).
I would consider the monoprice cable if someone handed it to me free.
just ordered this cable. Will see if it can connect my 24in ultrafine 4K to my windows pc
It works but you need to disconnect the device your not using. Defeats the purpose of two TB3 ports but it works.
I received this Monoprice bidirectional DisplayPort to USB-C cable this week. It works when connecting self-powered monitors. I connected RX Vega 56 eGPU DP output to USB-C input on a Samsung C34J79x monitor. When connecting to a bus-powered monitor such as ASUS MB16AC, it does not work because the cable carries no power.
