I have a Mac mini with two lg 4K cinema displays: I recently connected one of the displays direct to the egpu with then huewei dp + usb to type c adapter. It works fine, however I cannot boot solely on that monitor. Do you know what I need to do to make it so I can run just one monitor instead of two? Is there a script to run on Catalina to make it boot on the egpu only?

Your eGPU is a 5700XT? I thought only the RX580 or similar eGPU had that boot problem.

Did you try a different display (non-USB)? Maybe the problem is the USB connection.

Try connecting the USB part of the Huawei VR 2 cable to a powered USB hub? (probably no difference but something to try).
