eGPU Crashing when playing Rust

spent some time on this site and spec'd out that seems to be the most viable build for my mid-2015 MacbookPro

Config for the Macbook Pro is a 2.8GHz Quad-core i7, 16GB Ram - Retina display - internal gpu is a Radeon R9 M370X - and I have a LG 34" ultrawide quad display configured for 3440x1440 @ 60hz

I bought a Sonnet Breakaway and an AMD Radeon RX5700XT, also bought the apple TB3 to TB2 adapter and a TB2 cable for connection.

I've worked through the install setup of purge-wrangler. It works well, I'm getting good fps, and am overall very happy with the setup, except for...

the fact that RUST crashes the box after a few minutes of playing. Screen goes green and the computer freezes, I have to power down the box to get it to reboot. I quit playing a few months ago when it became too much for my internal gpu to handle. I was hoping this new setup would allow me to return.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi,

I've exactly the same issue. I've Macbook Pro 13 2020, Radeon 580 (Akitio enclosure). Every time eGPU is connected, it crashes, but works after reboot. Apple support didn't help me.
