I want to use an apple thunderbolt display connecting with the display port on the egpu enclosure (gigabyte gaming box 1070) by using DP port to thunderbolt adaptor. Will it work without any performance drops?

Thunderbolt displays need to be connected to a Thunderbolt port. Connecting them to a DisplayPort will not work, adapter or no adapter.

Give your Node Pro a second Thunderbolt3 controller for reliable peripherals by re-using a TB3 dock (~50$).

You need to use a TB3 add in card in another enclosure (or powered in some way), Alpine Ridge from Gigabyte. I have one and tested it in both macOS and W10 and it worked for me, but was too many boxes and cables so went back to directly connecting the TB3 display to my Macbook.

My Apple LED Cinema display worked with a Mini DP to DP adapter. However this workaround probably will not work with an Apple Thunderbolt Display. Note that between these two displays they're almost identical: QHD, same enclosure, etc. The latter had Thunderbolt though and mine didn't.
