According to this article, it's possible to flash the BIOS of the Vega 64 on a Vega 54 for about 10% performance increase, tying itself to the Vega 64. I've just purchased a Vega 54 and am tempted to try this, but afraid of the risks it may come with it (i.e. bricking).

The 3rd column on the picture is the default Vega 64, 4th column is the Vega 54 with Vega 64 BIOS and OC.

Thoughts?

Keep in mind that other than bricking your GPU, you are increasing power demand. What eGFX box do you have and what is the power supply?

The guys of Gamer Nexus found out that with overpowered and undervoltaged vega 64 is running better and more stable in temperature  and frequency:

I guess same happens with vega  56
