LG UltraFine + Razer Core X Question

Hey everyone.

I'm looking to drive a single 23.5-inch LG UltraFine Display with a  MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) running Catalina.

I have no need of running or dual-booting into Windows.

I am considering getting a Razer Core X and putting a recent Radeon card in there.

My understanding after reading another thread is that I would connect the eGPU to the display with a DisplayPort to USB-C cable, but that wouldn't be enough to turn on the display or allow control of brightness of audio volume. Some have suggested a Huawei VR2 cable as the solution for that but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere.

What would be the simplest solution for this?

Thanks so much in advance!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

The 24" LG UltraFine 4K display should work fine with any bidirectional DisplayPort to USB-C cable.

The 21" LG UltraFine 4K works with the Alogic bidirectional DisplayPort to USB-C cable.

But you should really use a method that includes USB to get all the features of the display (brightness control, audio, USB ports), such as the Huawei or Belkin VR cables, or the Wacom Link Plus.
