I keep seeing that Nvidia cards can't be used with macOS even when doing bootcamp, but is it they can't be used or its not optimal

my question is, if I bought a 2080 and put it in my razer core x, would I get no display, or would it just be that my onboard isn't offloaded

would it actually work as a dock effectively, I am not interested in performance as such when it comes to macOS, that's what I use for work, if I want to game I use my S740, I know I am privileged to be able to have both, but I want to know, would it actually work, since AMD is pretty far behind in the GPU stakes, I currently have a RX5700XT, and at my screens native resolution (5120x1440) on windows games are just a bit sub-par

so just to reiterate would sticking a 2080 (although at this point I might as well wait for the 3080) in my corex and with my MBP in macOS would it actually be able to display

thanks

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
