Hey guys, I got a spare CalDigit TS3 Plus that I want to use with my TB3 setup, but since my Mantiz Venus does not have Thunderbolt passthrough, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to connect both of the TS3 Plus and the Venus to my laptop (MBP 15" 2017) directly. My workload would to heavy load either the TS3 Plus or the Venus bandwidth, but not both of them at the same time. Will this setup cause any significant impact in performance?

Current build: 2017 15" MacBook Pro + Mantiz Venus MZ-02 + Silverstone SX700-LPT (750W Peak) + Noctua NF-A14 + Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8G (rev. 1.0)
Replaced parts: Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Nitro+; Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 (Reference model)

@teltersat2, If you connect them to separate TB3 controller there shouldn't be any performance loss.

@itsage, Thanks for the clarification, but the way I have my cables routed at the moment would require me to use one side (the left one) to plug both of these devices, would that cause an impact?

@teltersat2, That would depend on which peripherals you are running off the TS3 Plus dock. Overall I don't think it will significantly cripple the performance of the eGPU. The only exception is NVMe TB3 using the same controller as eGPU.

@itsage, ahhh I see... I do not intend to run an NVMe off that port! Thanks for the help!
