The idea was to build eGPU ‘here and now’ from anything that suits. So
1. The trickiest step: connect USB 3.0 cable to mPCI-e 2.0 port. Lenovo AIO has 2 free ports. Take out USB cable through the vent holes and you’re almost there)
2. Connect power supply to the riser card and eGPU. GTX 560 Ti has 2 6-pin power connectors, and it loves Watts! (210W)
3. If you don’t have power button , simply connect green and black wires on the 20-pin motherboard connector.
4. Connect eGPU HDMI cable to the Lenovo HDMI-in. You’re ready to go.
Starting and configuring
1. Turn on eGPU power.
2. Turn on PC.
3. Follow the Error 43 issue solution, in general steps are:
3.1. Boot up in safe mode, remove all GPU drivers with DDU.
3.2. Boot up without driver checking.
3.3. Install old driver (368), install newest driver.
3.4 Boot up in normal mode.
1. I can’t make it work on Lenovo’s screen without HDMI-in.
2. Severe FPS drops after constant GFX changing in games. I think it’s a lack of memory and mPCIe bandwidth problem.
650M gave 10000 points, 560 Ti gave almost 30000 on the same test.
Well, I used to play Battlefield 3 and 4.
650M managed to provide me with stable 50-60 fps on minimum graphics in 720p.
560 Ti made possible same fps in 1080p with medium-to-high graphics.
I think I’ve got best results for such a low budget (106$).
