the gdc is only X1
may have to altar drivers
all of which im prepared to live with

so im new to gcd havnt seen many y700 example builds is there anything im missing will it be worth it should I have gone with a different gdc should I swap out my ssd for the x4 m.2 am I out of my mind what am I getting myself into???!!!
am i missing something???

I have the Y700-15ISK too!

I was originally going to do the same thing as you and get the ngff version of the beast, but decided on getting the ADT-Link R43SG instead.

I think you get TB3 speeds (32gbps) or faster, but I’m not too sure.

My rig consists of:
- Y700-15ISK
- ADT-Link R43SG
- Dell DA-2
- EVGA GTX 1660 6GB SC

Feel free to ask me any questions!

@slurgen Also a Y700 owner here, I went for the M.2 NVMe (M key) connector with ADT R43SG. Everything works out of the box, no need to mess with drivers. For NVMe, you can increase the DMI link speed. Details of my build: https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2015-17-lenovo-y700-17isk-6th-4x-hq-gtx970m-2-nvme-adt-r43sg-tu-w10-1607/

Lenovo ThinkPad X220 w/ Exp GDC 8.5c via ExpressCard & M.2
Lenovo Y700-17ISK w/ ADT-Link R43SG-TU via NVMe [More Info]
