Should I upgrade my laptop or eGPU or both?

Hello folks, looking for some input here from what seems to be the most knowledgeable group on these topics. Thank you in advance for you help--it's much appreciated.

I am currently the owner of a Razer Blade Stealth (2016 version, 2 core CPU) and a Sonnet Breakaway 550 with RX 580 8GB in it.  The setup has worked pretty well for me, but I'd like to upgrade my laptop for more power and storage.

The question is this:  I no longer need the portability of the stealth as much as I did when I first bought it and went the eGPU route.  So I'm trying to decide if I should get an all-in-one machine -- something like a Razer Blade -- or if I should go with the 2020 blade stealth with the 1650ti and use the savings for an eventual upgrade to upgrade my external graphics card to say, a 2060 Super.

I don't think I'll ever really need more than a 2060 or 2070 that comes in the 2020 Razer blade, so it feels like if I went that route I would sell my eGPU and RX 580

I don't want to be computer shopping again in 3-4 years, so I really just want a setup that I can do some gaming on, but also run some simple models in CAD in case I get into design or 3D printing in my spare time, which is likely at some point.  The Razer Blade Stealth seems like it may be all I need, but I'm slightly concerned by the U series CPU and the non-upgradeable RAM.

So, any thoughts?  Since I already have the Sonnet 550, is saving some money and going Ultrabook and upgrading a graphics card in the near future still a good value compared to just buying an all-in-one machine? Or am I throwing good money at bad?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
