After upgrading to 10.13.6, my MBP 15" 2017 with RX580 Gaming Box only outputs ypbpr colour format to DELL U2414H using Displayport. The colour quality is totally unacceptable for me.

Outputing ypbpr color format is a known issue especially for DELL monitor, but it can be solved by using Displayport.

10.13.6 changes the colour format to ypbpr even I'm using Displayport. Does anyone also facing the problem? I just restored my MBP to 10.13.5 since the problem being noticed.

The second issue I encounter is that my eGPU connected MBP crashes during sleep. I always put my MBP to sleep with eGPU connected. Yet, There is more than 50% that Apple logo will show up when I open the lid again and get a kernel panic report.

For the above situation, I get this type of report.
"panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7fa0e01063): "displayModeDidChange failed: Failed to reserve NDRV space!
"@/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/GPUDriversAMD/GPUDriversAMD-1.66.42/Common/GLKernel/ATI/Accel/AMDAccelDisplayMachine.cpp:871"

I tried to disconnect and unplug the eGPU before letting the Mac sleep, my Mac still crashed sometimes and I got this type of panic report.
"CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump (CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz, CPUID: 0x906E9) CATERR detected! No MCA data found."

Disconnect and unplug the eGPU and then log out is the only way to completely solve the crash problem, but that is quite annoying.

I almost give up egpu solution as I faced tons of compatibility problems and spent lot of time to solve even the GPU is officially supported by Apple.

Is anyone facing similar problem?

You mention switching to DP. I have seen scenarios where trying to use goalque's hybrid solution with HDMI connections results in odd color casts on the screen. Does not happen with DP connections to the eGPU. Is that part of what you've seen?

Surprising to see so many sleep problems with native configurations. High Sierra really is "high", if you know what I mean. One of the worst releases of macOS ever.

I get the same issue with sleep:

CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump (CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz, CPUID: 0x906E9)
CATERR detected! No MCA data found.

This drives me nuts, always after I've unplugged the eGPU and using the laptop 'normally'.  Did you manage to resolve this?

Im using MBP15 2017, Mantiz enclosure, RX580

Have you tried the Force RGB patch? http://www.mathewinkson.com/2013/03/force-rgb-mode-in-mac-os-x-to-fix-the-picture-quality-of-an-external-monitor

I used it successfully on 10.13.5-6 to fix the color cast on HDMI on my Nvidia 1080 + nMP with HP Z32x monitor.

The sleep wake problem seems disappeared if I turn off my ext. monitor before letting the my eGPU connected Mac sleep.

I personally don't prefer installing 3rd script. Thats why Im using RX580 instead of 1070. I knows that script works, but, I want everything is natively supported by Apple.

I've resolved the crashing when sleep/wake by using HDMI to connect the external display from my RX580 rather than DisplayPort.  I have two DP outputs though so I am not sure if the issue is consistent across both, I am just using HDMI now and it all works fine.
