4k resolution MacBook Pro 2016?  

I was browsing Macbook Pro 2016 gaming benchmarks and i came across that the new MacBook Pro has an option in resolution settings to select 3840x2400 resolution. i wonder why nobody noticed this. Can someone with new MacBook Pro confirm it? Can you select 4k resolution for windows (desktop)? Apple claimed that it has "2880-by-1800 native resolution" . So is it true 4k resolution? You can select 4k resolution for MacBook Retina(makes text unreadable) via SwitchRes but it doesn't available in Windows.
