Hi Guys,

After failing to setup a GTX1080 card, I've purchased the RX580 that supposedly has the best compatibility.

The card was recognised by the system, but I didn't see any "eGPU discovered, please login again" message. I singned in and out. Now my external monitor was driven by RX580.

I've performed a few tests:

  • Unigine Valley Benchmark (Metal probably?) works great - it's stable, looks good, about 300% more FPS than on RP560 dGPU.
  • Cinebench (OpenGL) works, but gives a slightly *worse* result than RP560 dGPU.
  • TouchDesigner (OpenGL) displays a blank red window.

Am I missing something in my setup procedure or the RadeonPro 580 drivers are not yet stable enough to work with OpenGL applications?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
