I am on a Macbook Pro 2017 with AMD 560 built-in.
Mac (Thunderbolt) is seeing the Node Pro but not the video card.
Do I still have to run scripts to get this working on my Macbook or is this now plug and play with High Sierra?
Is the Node Pro PSU underpowered for the Vega 64 (ASUS Strix ROG 8GB)?

Considering the power consumption/noise/performance gain - I purchased Vega 56 with Node Pro instead of 64. and I am happy with my choice.

2018 MBP 13" + Akitio Node Pro + VEGA 56
2012 MBP 15" + Akitio Thunder2 + GTX 1060 6GB

I just assembled it Asus Strix Vega 64 8 OC, Akitio Node Pro + 650w Enermax SFX (114US$)  extra + MAc 10.14+ Mojave, amazing performance, super quiet, it was a hassle with the power supply upgrade but its worth it, and I'm daisy-chaining other products through the Thunderbolt.
Hope you have your answer.

Hi,

I have a  Asus Strix Vega 64 8G OC + Razer Core V2 + MacBook Pro Retina mid 2015 with purge-wrangler to enable the egpu on TB2.

The core was recognized but graphics card not, so went Apple Support Page for the eGPU, and saw that they recommend some models but not the Asus, I found that funny and tried to mess a bit with the BIOS of the Vega 64.

I assembled the graphic in a PC that I have,  and went to techpowerup, downloaded GPU-Z, to backup the current BIOS, downloaded ATIFlash, latest version, downloaded a Vega 64 BIOS from XFX, that was stated on the Apple Article.

I used the command prompt as Admin, and used the atiflash.exe to force flash the XFX to the Strix.

Voila, when I putted the graphic on the Core and booted my mac on 10.14, there it was.

It works for gaming and rendering on the built-in Display, but when connected to an external screen over HDMI the colors are messed up.

I will keep trying to see other things that can be done to correct this issue, but to anyone that wants to use it with the build in display it works great.
