Audio through HDMI support?

I'm currently using MBP 15" 2016/Devil Box/Gigabyte 1080Ti and all graphics functionality seems to be fully working with fresh macOS 10.3.6 and macOS-eGPU.sh script.
However, it is not possible to have the audio passed through the HDMI to my external monitor, which has built-in speakers. It seems the driver for the audio has not been installed? (if I go to System Information > PCI it shows the 1080Ti, and an unidentified "Audio Device" with "No" as the Driver Installed status below it).
What should I do so that I can get the audio working on my external monitor?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Audio passthrough over HDMI and DisplayPort comes and goes depending on the build. You can try an older Nvidia web driver version and see if it works.

I thought the Nvidia web drivers are tied to the build number of macOS?

I'm also interested in this. I seem to remember audio working in a previous version, but now it doesn't show up in macOS.
