@antony_marques Wait for NVIDIA drivers on Mojave or use High Sierra. Old EFI does not support 2018 MBP.

Oh ok so it is the drivers fault it means you don’t have Mojave’s ? Thanks 🙂 and good work. What’s the difference of using automate for windows , it’s more fast ?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Ok, I give up. There is no way I can make a Radeon card to work on my 13" rMBP mid-2014. I cannot bypass error Code 12. I tried all workarounds that I've found in this forum and outside, and I cannot waste more time. I will just swap cards to a nVidia if I need to play in Windows (NVidia cards work fine just disabling the iSight camera, no DSDT modification is even needed) and stick to Radeon under macOS.
If anyone has a new idea on how to make Radeon cards to be assigned Large Memory resources, I'm all ears 🙂

13" rMBP mid 2014. macOS 10.14.1 (thanks @goalque !).
Akitio Thunder2 with MSI Radeon RX560 OC mini (fits without modding).

@eightarmedpet It's there and was updated a little since you last used it:

https://egpu.io/forums/mac-setup/automate-egpu-efi-egpu-boot-manager-for-macos-and-windows/paged/7/#post-46528

I made a request for this to be linked on the first page but hasn't been done yet.

@antony_marques Ensure Secure Boot is disabled and boot from external media is allowed on your 2018 MBP. Google how to change that if not aware. You can use purge-wrangler.sh alternatively (still secure boot must be disabled).

Ahh cheers for the reply... I may give it another go, although I now have the original working on 2 different USB's which is promising, I was worried my first (successful) attempt was somehow a fluke I'd never be able to reproduce!

Non responses for,my question : with the boot EFI it can seems that we can’t choose what partition to boot from ?

I didn’t find anything about that in the forum, I read several topics about the Pure EFI stuff 🙂

Multiple partitions are not supported. Only one for macOS and one for Windows.

Can anyone confirm this solution works for iMac @ Bootcamp mode ?
Reading through all the pages - can't find any confirmation.

Thanx Goalque,

I will make my test this week-end then, some backup to do... I will try the EFI solution with the hack to get Mojave on unsuported hardware.

After not using my eGPU for a week its no longer working for me... nothing has changed, nothing has been updated... but when I boot using the EFI boot loader the eGPU isn't detected (nothing in Device manager).
It's fixable by booting normally and hot plugging, but even after that if I go back to using the EFI bootloader the eFGPU isn't recognised.

Anyone any ideas what could be causing this?

It felt more stable when using my AMD card (now sold), I was using it for about a week solid with no issues, could this have anything to do with it? Does the Bootloader read your system on first run and then stick to those settings?

Edit: So wiped and reformatted the USB as per these instructions after having the USB hang on "Saving" part of boot (think I formatted it wrong). Booted back up just fine with reformatted USB but again no eGPU detection. Unplugged and replugged the Core and it was detected and no BSOD (so maybe hot plugging works now).

Everything works for me but the EFI doesn't actually detect the eGPU. I don't think it's an issue but I thought it was worth sharing.

Running a 13" MBP tb 2016 with a Venus Mantiz (Not updated firmware because its a hassle on Bootcamp afaik) and an RX 580 LE (macOS 10.14 recognizes it as a RX 580 so the Limited Edition shouldn't cause any issues.

Mine isn't detected either, but it never is and works fine. You had any issues with error 12?
