Did you remove apple_set_os.efi as instructed in the first post?

Some displays are not compatible and stay black. In that case, your last chance is to set DropThunderbolt = true and SkipSetupDataForOSX = false but only at your own risk. It removes Thunderbolt ACPI configurations.

Install   AMD drivers directly from their website, reboot (always using EFI USB) - (before install the intel igpu drivers ) I can not install AMD Drivers  , it told me that there's no AMD GPU detected(Adrenalin 2020 Edition 19.12.2),this is the drivers link:5700xt Drivers;

Use 19.12.3 drivers.

Just tried this on my 2017 iMac 5K with RP580 dGPU, macOS 10.13.6, and GTX1080ti eGPU in OWC Mercury Helios FX.
I have the latest web drivers installed, and your validation script said my system was 'clean'.

  • Copied the files onto a FAT32-formatted external HDD
  • Did EFI boot (with eGPU turned off)
  • The automate-eGPU screen loads just fine
  • Hit q, then selected 'Boot mac OS' from the menu
  • It freezes on this menu screen and never goes anywhere

Tried several times with the same result. Help? Smile

Same problem. Did someone find a solution to this problem?

Config: iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017). eGPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (with a Razer Core X enclosure)

Yes, there ids no app_set_os.efi

The thing is, before updating to Catalina everything was fine. Do you see any chance i bring it back to work?

what should I do? 🙁  thank for your help.

I put the app-setos back in the folder and now its working! Only the small icon in the icon bar is missing. How can i get this back?

I just see that my Ethernet Port is not any more available in Network Setting. I can not even add it.

Does this something have to do with the EFI Boot?
