Mac Mini late 2018
eGPU: BlackMagic eGPU Pro
Version: 10.14.5 (but also tried in beta 10.15)
DAC: Tried various, but mostly Cambridge Audio DACMagic 100
When the eGPU is being used, the USB sound engine is reset every few minutes, resulting in an audio dropout. Example logs:

I've tried different USB cables, different USB ports, and plugging the USB DAC into:
- Internal USB port.
- eGPU USB port.
- Totally separate MiniDock's USB on separate Thunderbolt bus.
None of this seems to make a difference.

.Did you ever solve this? I've noticed some audio dropouts when using my USB DAC. I'm connecting the DAC directly to the Mac on the right side, with the eGPU on the left side.
System: MacBook Pro 2016 13-inch
DAC: Schiit Modi 3 (USB)
eGPU: Razer Core X Chroma w/ AMD 5700

.@gpu_cat I ended up using an HDMI to TOSLINK extraction device for a while, because I couldn't avoid the issue using any USB-based audio solution.
Then, after an OS update (10.15.1?) suddenly the issue disappeared and I'm back to using my external USB DAC happily.
So...all's well that ends well?

.Hi, did you manage to shine any more light on the cause? I've got exactly the same problem (27" iMac, Razer Core, 5700XT, various USB peripherals including a DAC) but don't have the luxury of disconnecting that other USB kit.

.@tobes, AFAIK the problem went away with a macOS upgrade.

.Thank you for getting back. I've seen mention of arguments between the iMac's T2 chip and USB audio, so I'm going to borrow a Thunderbolt 3 dock and see if I can use that to get round the problem - will report back.
