GPU not detected after security update on OSX 10.12.6

Hello everyone

I have previously setup my eGPU with a Sonnet EGFX breakaway box 550 ; an NVIDIA GTX Titan X and webdrivers. After following steps for my machine (MBP retina mid2015 and OSX 10.12.6), it worked fine with timed plug (putting in the thunderbolt 3->2 just after hitting enter for the password when launching OSX).

When doing a bunch of installs, there was a OSX security update that I did not check off and I think it troubled my eGPU setup. After restarting, it said that the NVIDIA webdrivers were switched to the default OSX drivers. Then it proposed me to update webdrivers which were again replacing the default drivers.

After that, I try time plugging my eGPU again, the blue light on the façade turns on but the graphic card remains not detected in the starting NVIDIA pannel (and in system profiler).

One new thing: before if I plug/unplug the thunderbolt cable "hot", it would crash the system (but worked with timed plug) ; now hot plug/unplug do not crash but neither hot or timed, plugging the eGPU does not allow the graphic card to be detected ..

I checked, SIP is still disabled ..

Please, may anyone have an advice on what to check or what could be fixed ?

Thanks in advance !

Fantastic, thank you a lot for pointing the right thing !

Just ran again your script and it works as before, no problems with timed plug 🙂
