Hi,

Recently I bought a second-hand Akitio Node Thunderbolt 3. Just now it's equipped with an GTX 980 Ti.

I've tested it with Windows 10 and it works like a charm, even with my Oculus Rift
Also works fine with my MacBook Pro (automate-egpu)

However my hackintosh has no luck. ioreg shows the card, installing NVIDIA Webdrivers without issue (Sierra) and a reboot.

I'm getting my display working (DisplayPort) but w/o acceleration, so not really usable. Is there anyone here who have managed to get a Hackintosh with TB3 working on a egpu setup?

Update
I managed to get it working, removed all NV*.kext, reinstalled the web driver and changed my SMBIOS mac to iMAC 14,1 and now fully working External GPU with Thunderbolt to my little NUC : )

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@direktorn Did you have to boot with the eGPU connected?

Can you post a How-To on how you got macOS running on the NUC?  The times that I have attempted it haven't worked so I gave up on it as a Hackintosh, but would be happy to try again if someone had a step-by-step how-to doc (including the steps to get the eGPU working).  I also have a Node but with a GTX 1080Ti so it sounds like I might be in luck.

Posting the how-to here might be the most relevant site, perhaps on one of the Hackintosh specific forums, but getting the steps posted somewhere would be great.

Thanks!
