Hardware:
2018 MBP 13" i7 - macOS 10.14.5
Akitio node pro
AMD RX 470 8GB
ASUS ROG Strix XG35VQ 35"

Issue:
When the dock is first connected, macOS sets the display to [email protected] but there is no output. Monitor shows no display on the relevant input.
If I then switch the display to [email protected], it works correctly.
If I then switch the display back to [email protected], it flashes for a second and then seems to work correctly. macOS shows that the monitor is 100hz.

This happens every time macOS is started, or the dock is re-connected.

Any help is appreciated.

Are you connecting the monitor through DisplayPort or HDMI cable? In my experience macOS is very finicky with high refresh output. It's best to use DisplayPort cable.

I was using HDMI 2.0.
Switched to DisplayPort and now its fine...

Thanks for the help, not something I would have thought about lol
