Setup:

Mac mini 2018

32G memory

256G storage

macOS 10.15.6 (supplement update installed)

Mantiz eGPU enclosure with Gigabyte Vega 56 Graphic card

This setup works fine before installing the macOS new update, but becomes laggy after that, checked the processes and found the process kernel_task runs at a high level (about 80-90%). But when unplug the eGPU enclosure and plug the HDMI cable directly to Mac mini, the computer seems work back to normal.

Is anyone have a similar issue? I am not sure if this was caused by corrupted system file or just Apple screw this up again. I have already tried reinstall the operating system through the recovery, but doesn't work. I'm considering do a full-system wipe to resolve the issue if this problem only occur here.

Is there any advice for this situation? Many thanks!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

Problem resolved by replacing a new DP cable.

Cannot figure out why, but it just worked, XD
