@mac_editor, That is what I do for now - shutting down the eGPU by using the off switch.

After following this thread with great interest, I finally found time to install kryptonite. Thank you for making kryptonite!

I'd like to confirm that kryptonite enables my egpu to work on the following system:

Macbook 11,3 with dGPU Nvidia GT750M | MacOS 11.4

Razer Core X with AMD RX6800

There is only one caveit. When the system is running on the external display, the macbook display just stays stuck on the login loading screen. I cant turn it off. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this?

Also, is it possible to use the macbook display as 2nd display when the external (main) display is connected to the eGPU?

@mac_editor, Another data regarding eject eGPU behavior, my 2015 15-in MacBook Pro with macOS 11.5 Beta as well as 12 Beta was able to safely disconnect the eGPU through the Top Menu button. Once in a while there's a Force Disconnect prompt due to some software/utility. Hot-plugging the eGPU back in would resume working without the need to reboot macOS.

@mac_editor, magic words

I followed those steps before with restarting, but gave it another go and now it just works.

Thank you for all the support you're giving here.

As a token of appreciation for all the work, I've made a donation to the development of kryptonite.

@hahala, cheers. The power-prefs thing doesn’t always work so needing to retry is feasible. If you ever boot without Kryptonite you might have to re-run it to get that internal display working alongside eGPU, so just a note.

@itsage appreciate the data point! Sounds like we can chalk up inconsistent eject issues to macOS/individual setups.

@mac_editor, Interesting subject you mentioned - updating to 1.0.0. Will it be just a matter of replacing the content of Kryptonite drive with the new one?

@netcho, an installer will be provided.

 If you want to do it manually, then yes just replacing the contents should be sufficient.

On that note, it does eject but on shutdown the system crashes on my end. But ya, you can eject and reconnect the eGPU.

Kryptonite 1.0.0 working great on OCLP 0.2.2. OCLP 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 has errors running on macbookpro9,1.

1.0.0 is available. Installer is decoupled from the releases and will improve independently over time (when I have the chance). See releases section on Github for changelog.
