first time, I run steam game, CPU and iGPU temperature went extremely high > 90degree, so I guess no acceleration by my egpu GTX 1050Ti, but  external display and MacOS device manager shows OK, both internal and external display shows NVIDIA GTX1050Ti.

So I tried to check egpu status with CUDA Z, then I relaunch game, CPU and iGPU temperature keeps below 75 degree.

anyone else noticed the same issue? Macbook 2016 13 touchbar

Interesting - So after checking status with CUDA-Z do you think its accelerating the games too? I'll try checking CUDA-Z. Mine also states both internal and external display shows NVIDIA GTX1070 but iStat confirms R560 is powering the steam games. Annoying!

Which games are you guys trying? And what difference do you see in terms of framerates and temperatures by opening CUDA-Z first? I noticed that OpenGL games (the vast majority of those released over the last few years) accelerated on my 1070 eGPU, but Metal games (some of the more recent ones, like Hitman, Deus Ex, F1 2016/2017, etc.) seemed to be running off the internal GPU.

Haven't tried a huge amount on Mac but xPlane11 is definitely using R560, I cannot get it to use the 1070 :(.
