Hello eGPU community,

I’m planning on getting an eGPU setup with these components:

Is the Radeon VII going to be compatible with these eGPU enclosures?

One monitor runs at 144Hz, the other one at 60Hz. Is that going to be a problem?

Which eGPU enclosure should I choose in combination with the Radeon VII? The OWC and Sonnet Breakaway seem pretty similar,  but there isn't much information about the OWC.

Do I need extra OSX drivers for the Radeon VII to work?

Thanks!

Expected eGPU setup:
- Mac Mini 2018
- Razer Core X / Sonnet Breakaway Box / OWC Mercury Helios FX 650
- Radeon VII

@sjoerd-v Either one of those three eGPU enclosures should work with Radeon VII because they have 650W power supply. As far as I heard from an AMD vendor, the Radeon VII does not work in macOS just yet. Even with the latest 10.14.4 Beta the card does not seem to work. There’s evidence Apple is working on providing drivers for this GPU so I would say to wait until the final build of 10.14.4 is released (in about two months).

Thanks! What command did you use to view all devices supported by the AMD Radeon kernel extension?

@sjoerd-v I use Mac-amd-info script to get the PCI IDs of each macOS build.
