Hello! Apologies in advance for any mistakes— this is my first time posting.

I triple checked that I followed Razer's setup instructions carefully— and my laptop is charging while plugged in to the enclosure's Thunderbolt 3 Port. However, on my laptop, there is no eGPU (or graphics card other than the integrated one) listed or recognized in the top menu bar, settings, terminal, or activity monitor. The fans for the enclosure are going, but not the fans for the graphics card.

Any help completing setup would be greatly appreciated!

I have the following set up:

Laptop:

  • MacBook Air 2020 (Apple's website confirms it is eGPU compatible)
  • 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
  • 16 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4

eGPU:

I have bootcamp set up because I need Windows for work, but I haven't ran it since attempting to set up my eGPU. It is not currently connected to an external display.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

One of the Core X’s 8-pin power connectors isn’t properly attached to the Vega 56 card.
