@kpleuss The firmware in some RTX cards cause boot loop issue when connected prior to boot. The best approach is to install Windows 10 1903 on your 2016 MacBook Pro then hot-plug the RTX 2080 once Windows has fully loaded.

@kpleuss Which model of 2106 MacBook Pro do you have? can you run winver in the taskbar search box to check the OS build of Windows 100?

@kpleuss You’re dealing with a double-whammy here. We recently learned there are changes in OS Build 18362.329 that makes setting eGPU almost impossible with and AMD GPU (error 12). Fortunately you are using an Nvidia card so it’s still possible to set it up. The 2016 15″ MacBook Pro does not have Large Memory allocation so you need to side-load the DSDT.aml with automate-eGPU EFI. Don’t connect the RTX 2080 eGPU prior to boot because the firmware may cause boot hang. Here’s a 2016 15″ MacBook Pro build I put together recently that would work with Nvidia eGPU through hot-plug.

@itsage I mentioned it in the thread about the 1903 update but is it worth someone saving and sharing the "good" windows ISO somewhere? I tend to keep old ISO's as just in cases.

You can follow the step by step in this build – https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2016-15-MacBook-pro-rp460-6th4ch-rx-vega-5632gbps-tb3-netstor-hl23t-plus-win10-1903-itsage/

@nando4 had compiled DSDT.aml files for the 2016 15″ MacBook Pro already so you only need to download the one that matches the Radeon Pro dGPU of your MBP
