Hi,

My current setup is pretty stable. Only slightly annoying thing is that sometimes I need to try several reboots into Windows.

Setup is: 2018 MacMini / Bootcamp / EFi-Boot on USB-Stick / eGPU: Akitio Node Pro with XFX AMD 580

Windows prompts me that there are BootCamp updates available from Apple. Is it OK to install them?
Versions: 6.1.14, 6.1.13 and 6.1.10

The initial setup (about a year ago) was a bit painful, trying to get the correct Windows 7 version (and disabling upgrades 😉 So I'm reluctant to change anything.
On the other hand: I never managed to get a decent Bluetooth headset connection. In multiplayer gaming, for example, other players complain about bad voice quality / a lot of white noise. (The same bluetooth headset behaves fine with MacOS). Which is strange, considering my Bluetooth Keyboard works just fine in Bootcamp

Even my USB Webcam microphone doesn't work properly for voice chat.

Would you recommend the Bootcamp updates? And would they improve Bluetooth voice connectivity?
Also: Now that it's 2021: should I still stick with Windows 10 1809? Or has there been a newer Windows build that works fine with Bootcamp & AMD cards?

Thanks a lot!!

@macbowtie, Those Bootcamp updates might not improve the Bluetooth headset mic issues you are experiencing. I haven’t seen anyone reporting the problem has been fixed.

Aside from the mic issue - the current Windows 21H1 runs very well for me on my 2018 Mini and Sapphire RX 5500 XT

@mini-i5, I might try the 20h1 windows update. Do you happen to know how easy (or not) it would be to go back to my current 1809 version if 20h1 lets me down? I have my Bootcamp partition backed up via Carbon Copy Cloner. Would a downgrade back to 1809 be as straight-forward as to just clone back the backup?

@macbowtie, Windows 1809, 20H2, and 21H1 are the versions I’ve used successfully on the 2018 Mini.

I haven’t read any accounts of Mac users easily restoring (from a cloned backup) a prior version of Windows on their Bootcamp partition.
